Judge’s Choice Winner: @_constance_j. Judge’s comments: There’s a lot to admire about Constance’s photo of the branding. It’s an image that pulls you in to the energetic, dusty, bright, smelly world of a working ranch. The intense textures and contrast are a perfect match for the character and wide dynamic range of B&W film. I like the idea that a photo of such a hands-on, manual labor process was captured and processed in a hands-on manual artistic process. Then there’s the composition and timing of a well-executed photograph. It’s just good.
