Join Dallas Center for Photography for an online event with the award-winning photography and filmmaking team Ben Lowy and Marvi Lacar.
This duo specializes in authentic, documentary style storytelling that embraces honesty and wonder. From portraits of CrossFit athletes to presidential candidates, commissions for Exxon as well as The Daily Show, Ben and Marvi’s work is as unique and diverse as the couple themselves. They started their careers as photojournalists and have seen the impact of compelling storytelling. They believe in stories that not only inform but also pique their curiosity, inspire them, create a ripple within our communities, and make lasting impressions.
Hear how Ben and Marvi became photographers and creatives, how they traversed different genres of photography, and what it’s like to work together as artists and spouses.
Benjamin Lowy began his photography career covering the Iraq War in 2003. Since then he has covered major stories worldwide. In 2004 Lowy attended the World Press Joop Swart Masterclass, he was named in Photo District News 30 and his images of Iraq were chosen by PDN as some of the most iconic of the 21st century.
