While waiting in my hotel room for the opening of an exhibition in Nacogdoches, TX., the light was coming through the window hitting the wall behind the old chair. I sat down on a stool and cast my shadow against the wall. Using the timer on my camera, I took several pictures. The end result reminded me of my mother sitting quietly watching the birds outside her window.
