In June 2021 I spent several days photographing Yosemite National Park. This image was captured several minutes after sunset at Tunnel View made famous by Ansel Adams’ photographs. One of the things that has helped me capture more colorful skies is utilizing sky color forecasting apps and learning to wait until several minutes after a sunset or be ready several minutes before a sunrise. That is when high clouds in the sky or mountain peaks will be bathed in colorful alpenglow if the conditions are right.
