Last July, I photographed Comet NEOWISE (C/2020 F3) west of Throckmorton, Texas at the towering Bridle Bit Bull sculpture by Joe Barrington (2011). I used PhotoPills app to pre-plan whether this location would provide a good composition. Realizing the comet would be rather small and low on the horizon, I chose to compose it beside the 22 ft tall longhorn bull statue to make the comet appear larger. This image is part of Texas Photographic Society’s At Night exhibit at Museum of the Big Bend until 9/3/2021.
