Honorable Mention: marydanz. Judge’s comments: Personally I was too distracted by the text on the man’s shirt to fall in love with this like I wanted to. Perhaps a tighter frame would have helped me but I think I would have then tried too hard to see the text in the other mirror. If I framed tighter, I would want to avoid cropping out the barber’s side profile in the foreground. I like that the photographer stayed with the Instagram restriction of square images. I suspect this type of barber shop, this place and time, will eventually be lost so to capture it today is important work.
