I invited myself inside the Dupuy family because I really wanted to take a portrait of them. I met Nicole only a week before and there is a whole blog post about her and this photo on my blog. Their backyard was the perfect stage, to me this photo says Texas and those kids are to die for. Clayton in the front is a very strong character, Cooper sitting down is the “easy going one” and Cole, on the bench, is the eldest and I felt he’s the one who’s not always necessarily in the spot light, but carries responsibilities. I was looking for a simple and clean composition, Tucker the puppy was the little cherry on the cake.
