March-In for Acrobatic Gymnastics meet (WOGA-Plano, 2010) This photo is from my first effort to photograph an entire gymnastics meet. Prior to this, I had photographed WOGA athletes for their parents only twice. When our coach asked me to photograph the meet, I almost declined, very aware of my lack of experience. But I loved the excitement of Acro meets and I loved providing keepsake images for parents and athletes, and decided to do it. Once the meet began, the anxiety was quickly replaced by a feeling of privilege that I was trusted to freeze both big moments of athletic accomplishment and the small ones of looking for one’s mom among the spectators.
