Photo Walk: Downtown Grapevine

Escape the bustle of Dallas, and enjoy this photo walk in delightful downtown Grapevine.
Upcoming Photo Walk

No photo walks currently scheduled

Join us as we explore the charming downtown of Grapevine. We will begin our photo walk by the train exhibit, a quintessential part of this town’s history, and then stroll down Main Street to capture that small town feeling. Our instructor will be there to answer questions, offer suggestions, and give some feedback on your photos. After the photo walk, attendees will be able to walk around the area independently. Please bring a mask for instances when you are near your fellow photographers.

Any camera will do – smartphone, DSLR, mirrorless, film.

What’s New:

Instead of an online class before the walk, we will now have an online image review a few days after to show off the photos you captured during the walk. We’ll meet online via Zoom to look at our images and get supportive feedback from the group. Shooting and reviewing as a group offers insights into your own and others’ photography.

  • Cost per person is $35.
  • Registration is free for the first 5 DCP members to sign up with the discount code found in your membership account.
  • The photo walk will be Saturday, March 5 from 10am-12pm.
  • For the photo walk, you’ll meet up with the instructor at a specified location in downtown Grapevine. We’ll spend two hours walking, talking and shooting photos.
  • Please bring a mask for instances when you are near your fellow photographers.
  • NEW: A few days after the photo walk, we’ll meet ONLINE via Zoom from 6:00pm-7:00pm CT for an image review of the photos you took during the walk.
  • Advance registration and payment is required.
  • Maximum number of students is 20.
  • Any camera will do – smartphone, DSLR, mirrorless, film.

Q: Do I need to wear a mask for on-location shooting?
A: Yes! Safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority. Please bring a mask for instances when you are near your fellow photographers.

Q: What do I need for the photo walk?

  • Any camera will do.
  • A charged battery and room on your memory card.
  • The right shoes and clothes for the weather. An umbrella if needed.

Q: Are there previous requirements for this photo walk?
A: You should have a working knowledge of your camera settings including exposure modes, shutter speed, f-stop, white balance and ISO control. It’s recommended that you’ve already taken the DCP’s Beginner Digital Photography Series or Beginner Digital Photography Full-Day Workshop.

Q: How will I know if a photo walk makes or not?
A: If a class doesn’t make and has to be cancelled, you will receive an email no later than 2 days before the scheduled class date.

Q: What if I have to cancel?
A: If you cancel 3-7 days ahead of the scheduled date of the class, you will receive no refund or 50% transfer credit toward another similar class within 3 months of the cancellation date. There is no refund or transfer credit for cancellations within 48 hours of start time of the class or workshop. Full details on cancellations are on our Policies page.
